Connector documentation
Underridge for Claude
Underridge connects to Claude as an MCP connector built by Greenridge Group. Share a deal's documents in a Claude chat and Underridge returns a verdict and an investment committee package: an investment memo, a term sheet, IC deck content, model inputs and a sources section that ties figures back to the documents. Output is decision support, not investment, legal, tax or accounting advice.

Set up
On claude.ai
- Open claude.ai on the web, then Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Name it
Underridgeand paste the server URL: https://app.underridge.com/mcp - Click Add, then Connect. An Underridge page opens: sign in with Google, an email link or a password (a new account is created on first sign-in, with ten free underwrites), then choose Allow. You land back in Claude, connected.
- In a chat, turn Underridge on from the tools menu and try one of the example prompts.
Custom connectors are added on claude.ai on the web, then work in the Claude desktop and mobile apps too. A free Claude plan allows one custom connector. Claude asks your permission the first time each Underridge tool runs.
In Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http underridge https://app.underridge.com/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Authenticate: the browser opens the same Underridge sign-in page. For scripts, an API key header works instead (create a key in Underridge, Settings, then API & MCP):
claude mcp add --transport http underridge https://app.underridge.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer ur_live_..."
The ten tools
Each tool acts only on your own Underridge account. Six read and four write. No tool deletes data.
underwrite_deal
Write, one credit
Underwrites a deal from its documents: links (public or pre-signed) or the files themselves, as PDF, Excel, Word, text or a zip, at most 20 files and 25MB per deal. Or a US-listed stock from its ticker alone: Underridge builds the data room from SEC EDGAR filings and five years of daily prices. One credit per run, refunded if the run fails. Underridge's three fictional sample decks run free.
get_underwrite_status
Read only
Whether an underwrite is queued (with its place in line and an estimate), running (with the early verdict once it is decided), done (with the recommendation) or failed (with the reason).
list_deals
Read only
Your recent deals, newest first, with their verdicts and headline numbers. 20 by default, at most 100, and it says when older deals were left out.
get_deal
Read only
One deal. For an underwritten deal, a summary: the verdict, the headline numbers and key metrics with their sources, the top risks, the conditions, the documents cited and which deliverables are ready. Any part of the package (for example the term sheet) in full when asked for by name.
add_pipeline_deals
Write, free
Logs opportunities in your pipeline without underwriting them, up to 500 at a time.
add_task
Write, free
Adds a next action to a deal: on you, or waiting on a counterparty.
list_tasks
Read only
The next actions on your deals, for all of them or for one deal.
get_account
Read only
The signed-in account: its email and credit balance.
get_credits
Read only
Your remaining underwrite credits, the account email and where to add credits.
send_feedback
Write, free
Sends your 1 to 5 rating (1 poor, 5 excellent) and an optional comment on one of your own underwrites to the Underridge team. A later rating of the same deal replaces the earlier one.
Example prompts
Each works on a new account. The sample decks are fictional and run free.
“Use Underridge to underwrite this deal: https://app.underridge.com/samples/ledgerline-saas-growth-round.pdf”
Tools: underwrite_deal (often after get_credits), get_underwrite_status until it is done, then get_deal. A fictional sample, free.
“List my last 5 Underridge deals and compare the verdicts.”
Tools: list_deals, then get_deal as needed.
“Log Cedar Hollow Mechanical and Juniper Flats in my Underridge pipeline, then add a task to request the Juniper Flats rent roll.”
Tools: add_pipeline_deals, add_task, then list_tasks.
“What's my Underridge credit balance?”
Tools: get_credits.
“Underwrite the Juniper Flats bridge loan with Underridge: https://app.underridge.com/samples/juniper-flats-multifamily-bridge-loan.pdf”
Tools: The same tools as the first prompt. A fictional sample, free.
“Underwrite NVDA with Underridge.”
Tools: underwrite_deal with the ticker and no files (one credit), get_underwrite_status until it is done, then get_deal.
“Rate the Ledgerline underwrite 4 out of 5 in Underridge: the risks were useful.”
Tools: send_feedback, after list_deals when Claude needs the deal. Free.
Sign-in and permissions
- The connector signs in with OAuth. When you connect, Claude opens an Underridge page where you sign in and choose Allow or Cancel. The page shows where you will be returned.
- If you allow it, Underridge gives Claude an access key for your account named “Claude connector”. Underridge stores only a SHA-256 hash of the key, never the key itself. Claude renews access with a refresh token that it holds; each renewal replaces the key and revokes the old one.
- The key works only with Underridge's API and connector, and only for your account. With it, Claude can read your deals, packages, tasks and credit balance, start underwrites (which use your credits), add pipeline deals and tasks, and send ratings.
Credits and limits
- New accounts start with 10 free underwrites. Each underwrite uses one credit, refunded if the run fails. Underridge's three fictional sample decks run free.
- Documents: PDF, Excel, Word, text or a zip of a data room, at most 20 files and 25MB per deal. Links must be public or pre-signed, and download within 20 seconds.
- Documents need text that can be selected: scanned pages are not read yet.
- A run takes a few minutes. Claude can share the early verdict as soon as it is decided, then read the full package.
- A US-listed stock can be underwritten from its ticker alone, from SEC EDGAR filings and daily prices.
Your data
- Underridge receives only what Claude puts into a tool call: the documents or links you ask it to underwrite, deal names and intake answers, deal ids, pipeline entries, tasks and ratings. It never receives the rest of your conversation, other files in it or Claude's memory.
- To run an underwrite, Underridge holds the documents in private storage (Supabase) and deletes them when the run completes; a failed run's files are kept so it can be retried, and deleted 30 days after it last moved. The text read from the documents, with your intake answers, is sent to Underridge's AI model provider, Anthropic, to produce the package.
- The deal and its package are saved to your Underridge account, which only you (and the members of a workspace you join) can read. Underridge does not sell your data and does not use your deal materials for advertising.
- What a tool returns becomes part of your Claude conversation, which Anthropic handles under its own terms and privacy policy.
The full detail is in the Privacy Policy, section “Claude and other AI assistants”, and on the security page.
Revoking access
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and remove Underridge.
- To end access on Underridge's side at once, sign in to Underridge, open Settings, then API & MCP, and revoke the key named “Claude connector”. A revoked key stops working at once and cannot be renewed. Removing the connector in Claude does not revoke the key by itself.
Deals, pipeline entries and tasks created through the connector stay in your account. To delete your account and its underwrites, email support@greenridgegroup.org from the address on the account.
Troubleshooting
Your company's Claude account has no Add custom connector option
Company-managed Claude accounts (Team or Enterprise) may block custom connectors. Ask an owner of the Claude organization, use a personal Claude account, or use the Underridge web app, which does everything the connector does.
Claude does not show a tool, or shows an old description
Claude keeps the tool list it fetched when you connected. Remove the connector, add it again and start a new chat.
"Unknown client. Remove the connector and add it again."
Remove the connector in Claude and add it again.
"Access was revoked. Connect again."
The key was revoked in Underridge (Settings, then API & MCP). Click Connect in Claude.
"Could not download ... The link must be public or pre-signed."
Use a public or pre-signed link, or share the file in the chat so Claude can send it.
A run fails with "No readable text in the documents"
Scanned pages are not read yet. Send a PDF with selectable text, or a Word or Excel file.
A run stops with out_of_credits
Add credits in the Underridge app. The run resumes on its own once the account has credits.
"This redirect address is not registered for the client."
Remove the connector and add it again. In Claude Code, you can sign in with an API key header instead (below).
