Credit Analysis Software for Banks and Lenders

Credit analysis software reads a borrower's financial statements, tax returns and deal documents, works out whether cash flow and collateral can carry the loan, and drafts the write-up a credit officer takes to committee. Underridge does this for commercial loans in minutes: it tests the request on DSCR, debt yield and LTV, writes the memo and builds a live Excel model, with every headline figure traced to a source page, a formula or a labeled assumption.

What a lender needs from credit analysis software

Every commercial credit decision comes back to the same questions. Can the borrower's cash flow carry the debt service, with room to spare? What happens to coverage if revenue or occupancy falls? What is the collateral worth, and how strong are the guarantors? Answering them means reading the whole package, rebuilding cash flow, running the ratios and writing it up, which is where most of an analyst's hours go.

Good credit analysis software takes on the reading, the math and the first draft, and leaves every number easy to check, so the analyst's time goes to judgment: which risks matter, what structure answers them and whether to recommend the loan. The five Cs of credit still frame the decision.

Every figure traced, every gap labeled

A credit write-up is only as useful as a reviewer's ability to verify it. Underridge cites the source page behind each headline figure (for example, T12 p.3), shows the formula for anything it derived, and labels anything it could not find as an assumption instead of inventing it. On real estate, the headline income is what the property earns today, and an underwritten rent is labeled as projected, not trailing.

On real estate and operating company loans, coverage, debt service and returns are computed by code from one set of model inputs, not estimated in prose, so the memo, term sheet and Excel model state the same figures. DSCR is shown in year 1 and at stabilization, debt yield is computed on real estate, and changing an input in the Excel model recalculates the ratios.

Software that says no

A credit tool that approves everything is a liability. As of October 19, 2026, across the 224 real deals Underridge had underwritten in production, half of the verdicts were pass and half were proceed with conditions. None was an unconditional approval. Each of those yeses came with the conditions that would have to hold before closing, so a reviewer sees exactly what the recommendation depends on.

What you get

How it works

  1. Pick the lender role and drop the borrower package: financial statements, tax returns, a rent roll and T-12, an appraisal or a zipped data room. PDFs, Excel, Word and PowerPoint files are read, scanned pages are transcribed up to a per-run limit, and any unreadable file is listed with the reason.
  2. Add your limits if you have them, such as a maximum LTV or a minimum 1.25x DSCR. Underridge underwrites within them and says so when the deal cannot fit.
  3. Name the principals and guarantors who own 25% or more, with their experience and financial strength.
  4. Get the verdict and its reasons in about a minute. Across 205 timed real-deal runs, the median time from data room to the full seven-file package was 74 seconds.

Built for community banks and credit teams

Underridge is built for community and regional banks, credit unions, SBA and fintech lenders and private credit funds. It handles the requests those teams see most: commercial real estate and bridge loans, business acquisition loans including SBA 7(a) and 504, equipment finance and loans to operating companies, among the 145 asset classes it covers.

Every request gets the same disciplined first read, whichever officer or branch it came from, and the pipeline shows each deal's approval status in one place. The credit team shares one workspace.

What it is not

Underridge is decision support, not a credit decision. A credit officer still applies the bank's policy, owns the recommendation and answers for the call. It is a standalone web app: it does not connect to your core or loan origination system, and it does not replace your spreading templates or risk rating model.

The security page says what is in place today and what is not in place yet, so a bank reviewer can judge it on the facts. Bank pilots are built for public deals, Underridge sample packages and synthetic files, not borrower or customer personal information.

Frequently asked questions

Can credit analysis software replace a credit analyst?

No. It takes on the reading, the coverage math and the first draft, where most of the hours go. A credit officer still checks the work, applies bank policy and owns the recommendation.

What documents does Underridge need for a commercial loan?

Whatever the borrower sent: business financial statements, tax returns, interim statements, a debt schedule, a rent roll and T-12, an appraisal or a zipped data room. With less evidence, the memo shows which inputs are assumptions.

Does it connect to our core or loan origination system?

No. Underridge is a standalone web app with no integration with core banking or any other bank system. Users choose the files they upload.

Is our data used to train AI models?

No. Underridge trains no models, and Anthropic's Commercial Terms bar Anthropic from training models on content sent through its API. The security page at underridge.com/security covers retention, deletion and the rest of its controls.

How much does it cost?

New accounts get ten free underwrites. After that, pricing runs from $9.80 down to $5 per underwrite, depending on volume.
